Great White Sharks breaching -- holy crap! I'd never heard of such a thing, but here's more. Not something I'd want to witness from a zodiac.

I just caught a great Newshour segment on the Quilts of Gee's Bend. It's quite moving to hear the women speak about their quilting, and even more so once you see quilts.
The quilts are currently on display at the Mobile Museum of Art in Mobile, Alabama. (I'm kicking myself for missing their stint at the Whitney.)

Excuse me while I wax nostalgic. . . a few only in the A-T-L headlines:
When the Historic Preservation Commission wouldn't approve plans for a rounded stoop on his house, this Atlanta man had it painted lime green with purple polka dots in protest. Nice!
A would-be burglar died early today after breaking into an Atlanta house by jumping head-first through a front window. "This is a weird one, I must admit," said a puzzled Fulton County police major, Wenda Phifer. "Jumping through glass to get into, not out of some place...I don't know."
And of course there's the new new state flag, accompanied by another bad meme -- the bad guys comme deck of cards. "The board chairman of the Confederate-friendly Heritage Preservation Association plans to produce a deck of playing cards bearing the photographs and telephone numbers of lawmakers who helped approve Georgia's new state flag and bypass a referendum on the 1956 banner with its dominant, and racially divisive, Rebel cross."
One of the few things I like about southern California -- the hills.
Holy crap. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Watch them both, and in order.

This looks like too much fun to pass up. . . trapeze school!
